SERVICES
“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.”
― Carl R. Rogers
about my services…
To me, psychotherapy is both an art and a science, blending research with the subtler work of reflection, curiosity, and trust. At its heart, therapy is not just about reducing symptoms, but about creating a space where you feel seen, understood, and able to explore the parts of yourself that often remain hidden.
Consistency is central to this process. Weekly sessions provide the structure and stability needed for deeper work to take shape. Over time, the relationship we build becomes the foundation for meaningful change. Together, we will identify both immediate goals and longer-term directions, while keeping in mind that growth is rarely linear.
With a specialty in addiction, I bring a nonjudgmental perspective, balancing risk assessment with education and support. I understand the unique pressures licensed professionals face when navigating substance use, where privacy, stigma, and high standards often make seeking help feel especially daunting — and I tailor my services with those realities in mind.
my approach…
I work primarily from a psychodynamic lens, focusing on how past experiences and attachment patterns shape your present relationships and emotional life. I integrate evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT and mindfulness when they can offer practical tools for managing distress so that deeper exploration can occur.
Our work often includes exploring your upbringing and the relational patterns that influence how you show up today. This exploration is paired with psychoeducation and skill-building, giving you both insight and concrete strategies to support change. When appropriate, I also provide referrals for complementary services such as psychiatry to ensure you receive well-rounded care.
My approach to addiction is open-minded and grounded in the belief that recovery is never one-size-fits-all. What matters most is finding a path that feels realistic and sustainable for you. I bring knowledge of NYC-based resources, medication-assisted treatment options and providers, while also focusing on the deeper cycle of shame that so often fuels substance use. Healing that shame can be a powerful step toward lasting recovery.
The aim of our therapy work is not only to relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, or stress, but to help you cultivate greater self-understanding, emotional resilience, and a more grounded connection between mind and body.

Once we have connected via email or phone, the day of your first session you will receive a unique Zoom link via email. You can use this link ongoing for all future sessions.
During our first video session I will explore your reasons for seeking therapy and begin to gather important personal and health history. Expect to discuss your family of origin and share a little about all life areas. This will provide me with a foundation for getting to you know you and how we can best work together to achieve your treatment goals.

I am using the popular telehealth platform Zoom. Prior to our first meeting, I can offer technical assistance if needed. The Zoom account is used specifically for healthcare providers and is HIPAA compliant. This means Zoom is responsible for employing the appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to prevent any unauthorized access to, or use or disclosure of, PHI (protected health information). TIPS FOR TELETHERAPY
-
Find a private & quiet space.
Avoid public spaces, family and roommates and use headphones when possible! Pets are always welcomed, of course.
-
Turn off notifications.
It’s easy to get distracted. Turn off notifications on your laptop or set your cell phone to ‘Do Not Disturb.’
-
Use Wifi.
Connect to your WiFi and remain in range of the router to ensure the best quality video session.
-
Download Zoom.
Download the Zoom application in advance of your session time. Check your email for the reoccurring link to your session.
-
Get Comfortable.
Find that perfect spot in your home where you feel most at peace. Having a safe space where you can put on your favorite pair of sweats and get focused is important!
-
Stay charged.
Have the device you plan to use for your session as charged as possible. This prevents disruptions and frustrations of having to locate and untangle those cords.
